Gen X: Book Summary

14 May 2009 In: Uncategorized

Strangely, the question that gets me every time someone asks is “So, what’s your book about?”. Rightly so they should want to know what the book is about but sometimes I find it difficult to put into words without feeling obligated to have to cover the theme of every chapter.

So…to all you visitors, new and old - I present the book summary of Gen X:

“Working to pursue her dream job managing the careers of actors, Genevieve Xavier is happy to graduate and move on with her life. That is until her life changes completely when one unexpected event catapults her career in a new direction. L.A. calls when her roommate wins a chance to star in the national Comedy Express Tour and the spotlight also starts to shine on her unrequited love. Gen climbs aboard for the ride of her life but her adventure only goes so far when the vindictive agent Leila, tosses her back home. Far away from the spotlight, Gen loses her love, her new-found friends, her career, and just maybe her hope. Will she fight to keep her dream alive or face her biggest fear of failure?

What’s Been Said So Far….

6 May 2009 In: Uncategorized

Prior to this month, Gen X was available for free online, in it’s entirety. Once the decision was made to publish the novel, I took down the chapter posts for obvious reasons. Before it went away though, there was some pretty awesome people who came to visit the site and check out the book. Here is just some of what they said! (and for the record - I am not related to any of the people whose comments are below)

“I want to be Gen. Or at the very least, I want to be friends with the girl. My favorite line so far: “Come here and mama up to me”… absolutely priceless.”

“I love Gen and this story. I will be back to read it again! I look forward to more work from this author!”

“Loving this story:) Being a Gen X myself, I can relate!!”

“This story was amazing!! I couldn’t wait for more to be posted…I’m a little disappointed that it has come to an end. It definately left me wanting more!”

“I love it. LOVE IT. Thanks for putting her on paper. (so to speak)
Keep it going! I crave more!

“Wonderful! This was my first on-line novel and I was very impressed and looking forward to the next two novels.”

“What a great story! Funny & entertaining. I started to read it tonight and had to finish it. My eyes are bugging out now but it was worth it! I look forward to the next book & Gen X’s new chapter in her life. I like how this story line and characters can be continued on.”

“I really liked your story (Gen X) and I was just wondering if there is any news on if you were writing a second book, and if you are going to post it so we can read it online. Thanks!”

“That was FABULOUS dear. I’m looking forward to your next posting. Please, if possible do let me know through my email. thanks and again three claps for the wonderful creation. Take very good care of yourself.”

“i loved it!!! i couldn’t stop reading it can not wait till the next part! i LOVE it! was so sad when she left LA. keep writing it is amazing.”

In the Beginning….

5 May 2009 In: Uncategorized

Well over three years ago, I penned my first full-length novel in three weeks. It has taken this long, many rejections, and a lot of wonderful support to get where we are today. Gen X is a chic lit’ish novel that covers some of the life of a 20-something Genevieve, who dreams big and tries her best. She is sometimes afraid of how things will work out but the ride she takes in the novel is wild to say the least.

It has been an incredible experience, made all the more incredible by my decision to self-publish my first baby. I am looking forward to the new experience and journey Gen will take me on from this point forward. I hope you will join me on the journey too!
